Testnet guide

PUTGO has deployed a demo on Robinhood Chain Testnet: one TSLA market, 7-day protection, floor at 95% of the price at purchase. This page walks you from nothing through the full Protect (buy protection) and Earn (deposit USDG) flows.

App: https://putgo.fi/app/

Every token involved is a test token with no value. Do not send real assets to any address on this page.

How the demo differs from the target product

The demo is the first runnable version of the product. It differs from the target product described on the other pages of this site in these ways:

  • Only one market: TSLA. NVDA and UNI are the planned launch markets and do not exist on the testnet.
  • The tokens are PUTGO mock tokens, not the official test TSLA / USDG handed out by the Robinhood faucet. The two are not interchangeable.
  • Withdrawals have no delay: withdraw at any time, but only the unreserved part.
  • Premium is not released second by second; it is credited to the Money Pool once a day at 12:00 UTC, per position.
  • The daily price is recorded by a single operator account, and the same account can pause purchases. Settlement, exit, withdrawal and claiming are unaffected by a pause.

Everything else follows Protect, Earn and How settlement works. All parameters of the testnet market are listed in the Testnet section of Markets and parameters.

Before you start

You need:

  • A browser wallet: MetaMask, Rabby, or any browser wallet that appears in the page's wallet list. On a phone, open the page inside the wallet's built-in browser.
  • About ten minutes.
  • No real assets. Test ETH comes from the faucet; test TSLA and USDG are minted on the page itself.

Network details

If your wallet does not add the network automatically, add it by hand with this table:

Item Value
Network name Robinhood Chain Testnet
Chain ID 46630
RPC https://rpc.testnet.chain.robinhood.com
Currency symbol ETH
Block explorer https://explorer.testnet.chain.robinhood.com

Step one: setup

A setup checklist at the top of the page guides you through four things in order. The checklist stops at whichever item is incomplete; the Protect and Earn panels become usable once all four are done.

1. Install and connect a wallet

Click "Connect your wallet" and pick your wallet from the list. Reading data needs no signature; only transactions do.

2. Switch to Robinhood Chain Testnet

Click "Switch to Robinhood Chain Testnet". If the network is not in your wallet yet, the wallet offers to add it; confirm. If your wallet already has chain id 46630 with a different RPC, the page may not be able to read the market; edit that network entry as described in Troubleshooting.

3. Get test ETH

Test ETH is only used to pay transaction fees. Click "Open Robinhood faucet" to open https://faucet.testnet.chain.robinhood.com/, pass the human check and sign in with a Google account; a small amount of test ETH arrives in about a minute. The page refreshes the balance on its own; you do not need to reconnect.

4. Mint test tokens

Click "Mint 100 test TSLA" and "Mint 100,000 test USDG", signing one transaction for each. These are mock tokens deployed by PUTGO for the demo; anyone can mint them, without limit.

Token Address Decimals
Test TSLA 0x4B0E9B2f3747fb9D11CeA2Cb3518365D16E809e4 18
Test USDG 0x42fa9A8085c0bc633Afa4e19a1f491db9a4dC0fE 6

To see the balances in your wallet, use the "add to wallet" button on the page or import the tokens by hand using the addresses above.

Step two: Protect, buy 7 days of protection

A protection goes through these stages from purchase to claim:

flowchart LR
    A[Enter amount
see quote] --> B[Approve TSLA]
    B --> C[Confirm purchase]
    C --> D[Holding
countdown]
    D --> E[Expiry day 12:00 UTC
price recorded]
    E --> F[Settle and book]
    F --> G[Claim]
    D -. any time .-> X[Early exit]

Enter an amount and see the quote

In the Protect panel, enter the amount of TSLA to deposit. The page immediately shows a live quote:

  • Rate now: the current premium rate, set by the utilization of the Money Pool.
  • Premium paid: the premium, in the asset, taken out of the deposited amount and rounded up.
  • Actual protected amount: protected amount = deposited amount − premium. This is the amount that actually has the floor.
  • Floor price: floor = official price at purchase × 95%, rounded down to the minimum price unit (see Markets and parameters).
  • Expires: expiry = the first 12:00 UTC after 7 full days from purchase; the page shows the exact date and time.
  • Room left: the remaining capacity, that is, how much TSLA the pool's unreserved USDG can still back.
  • Price used: the official price behind the quote, and how long ago it was updated.

"Use minimum" fills in the smallest allowed purchase; "Use room" fills in the remaining capacity.

A quote is not a commitment. The rate moves with utilization, and between the moment you see the quote and the moment your transaction lands, other people's purchases or withdrawals can change it. "Max rate you accept" is a ceiling set automatically slightly above the quote and shown on the confirmation card: if the rate at the time of execution is above it, the transaction fails instead of going through at the higher rate.

Example (all figures illustrative)

Current price 400 USDG, utilization 0%, premium rate 0.80%. You deposit 1 TSLA.

  • Premium 0.008 TSLA, protected amount 0.992 TSLA, floor 380 USDG.
  • The Money Pool reserves 0.992 × 380 = 376.96 USDG for this protection.
  • Expiry price 420: you get 0.992 TSLA back.
  • Expiry price 370: you receive 376.96 USDG.

Approve and buy

  1. Click "Approve TSLA" and sign in your wallet. This lets the market contract take the TSLA you are depositing; it is needed before every purchase.
  2. Click "Buy protection". A confirmation card lists, line by line, the amount you deposit, the premium, the protected amount, the floor price, the expiry time, and the USDG you would receive on delivery.
  3. Check the figures, confirm, and sign in your wallet. A step indicator on the page shows the transaction's progress; once it lands, a position card appears under "Your positions".

While you hold

The position card shows the floor price, the protected amount and a countdown to expiry. It also notes where the current price sits relative to the floor, for example "would deliver if settled now". That is for reference only: nothing the price does during the week affects the outcome; only the official price recorded at expiry counts.

You can exit at any time before expiry: click "Exit position" on the card, then confirm "Exit and forfeit premium". The protected TSLA returns to your wallet immediately; the premium already paid is not refunded.

Expiry and settlement

  1. After 12:00 UTC on the expiry day, the operator account records the official price of that moment onchain, usually within minutes. Until then the position card shows "Awaiting price".
  2. Once recorded, the card shows the settlement price and the outcome: settlement price at or below the floor means delivery, and you receive USDG at the floor; settlement price above the floor means release, and the TSLA comes back.
  3. Anyone can press "Settle and book payout". The result is fixed by the price onchain, so it is the same whoever presses; the presser only pays that transaction's fee.
  4. After settlement, the USDG or TSLA that belongs to you appears under "Ready to claim". Click "Claim", sign, and the funds return to your wallet.

The USDG used for delivery was reserved from the pool the moment you bought, so delivery is always funded.

Step three: Earn, deposit USDG

Deposit

  1. If you have no test USDG yet, "Mint 100,000 test USDG" first.
  2. Click "Approve USDG" and sign.
  3. Enter an amount, click "Deposit" and sign. You receive shares of the pool, and the page shows "Your share of the pool".

The minimum deposit per transaction and the pool's total cap are on Markets and parameters.

What you take on

Part of your USDG may be converted into TSLA at 95% of the price at which buyers entered. This happens when a protection's settlement price falls to the floor or below: the pool pays USDG at the floor and receives TSLA, which is credited to you by share. The TSLA you receive may be worth less at that moment than the USDG you gave up. The premium compensates for this risk; it is not an assured income.

Income and claiming

"Claimable income" shows the two things you can collect: premium (in TSLA, after the protocol share, whose ratio is on Markets and parameters) and TSLA received through delivery (the app groups it under the same label, but it is the converted part of your USDG, not income; see Earn). Click "Claim" to collect both at once.

On the testnet, premium is credited to the pool once a day at 12:00 UTC, per position. So right after someone buys protection, your claimable premium may still be 0; it appears at the next settlement time.

Withdraw

"Withdrawable now" shows what you can take right now. The rule: you can only take the unreserved part of the pool. USDG that is backing live protection is released only when those protections expire or exit. There is no withdrawal delay on the testnet; enter an amount, click "Withdraw", and it arrives. "Withdraw everything" fills in the most you can take.

Activity

The activity drawer in the top-right corner keeps your last 50 transactions, each with a status (pending, confirmed, reverted, cancelled) and a block-explorer link. When reporting a problem, copy the transaction hash from here.

Why the page will not let me click

The page checks whether a transaction would succeed before you click. Buttons for actions that would fail are greyed out, with the reason printed under the button. The common ones: wrong network, no ETH for fees, amount below the minimum purchase, over the remaining capacity, stale price, purchases paused. What to do about each is in Troubleshooting.

Where the price comes from

There is no official price feed on the testnet. The PUTGO team runs an automated price updater that writes the mainnet Chainlink TSLA/USD price into the testnet price contract about every two minutes. So the price on the page is live even outside US market hours; it shows the last price printed on mainnet.

Buying requires the price to have been updated within the allowed freshness window (see Markets and parameters). If the updater falls behind, the page says the price is stale; wait two minutes and try again.

The settlement price at 12:00 UTC each day is recorded separately by the operator account; it is a different thing from the two-minute updates. Positions settle only on the recorded settlement price.
